Abstracts must be submitted through our online portal. Please ensure you have read all guidelines before submitting.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Online Submission Only: Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the congress website abstract submission portal after creating an account and login. Submissions via email or postal service are not accepted.
  2. Language Requirement: All abstracts must be written and presented in English.
  3. Multiple Submissions: Authors are permitted to submit more than one abstract.
  4. Presenter Commitment: The author submitting the abstract is expected to present onsite at the congress. Any changes in presenting author due to unforeseen circumstances must be communicated to the Congress Secretariat at abstract@psychiatry-malaysia.org.
  5. Abstract Title: The title should be concise, informative, and in CAPITAL LETTERS.
  6. Content Structure: Abstracts must include:
    • Objective: the purpose of the study, research or presentation; Methods (if indicated): study design, sample selection, setting, subjects, intervention(s), if any, and primary outcome measure(s); Results: main findings (giving their statistical significance, if indicated); and Conclusions: how findings contribute to the field’s existing body of knowledge.
    • Keywords: provide a maximum of five keywords for each abstract.
    • Each section should be clearly defined.
  7. Formatting: Avoid graphics and references in the abstract. Use standard abbreviations, avoid uncommon abbreviations, and include any abbreviations in parentheses after the full words upon first appearance.
  8. Word Limit: The abstract should not exceed 300 words, excluding the title, author details, and keywords.
  9. Quality Assurance: Ensure the abstract is in clear, publication-ready English. Proofread thoroughly, as amendments are not possible after submission.
  10. Publication Opportunity: All approved abstracts will be published. More details will be advised as soon as possible.
  11. Abstract Withdrawal Policy: Notify the Congress Secretariat via email by 31st August 2026 for withdrawals.
  12. Corresponding Author: Identify the corresponding author who will be the main point of contact for all communication regarding abstract status.
  13. Proof: It is your responsibility to check your abstract proof carefully. If errors or changes are required, kindly make the corrections and inform the secretariat.

Presenters of accepted abstracts must register for the conference before it begins. Each presenting author is responsible for registration fee(s), travel, and accommodation costs.

Presenters who cannot attend should arrange for another individual to present the oral paper/poster and inform the secretariat as soon as possible.

Abstract Review

  • All submitted abstracts will be evaluated through a peer review process conducted by the Scientific Committee. The decision of the Scientific Committee is final.
  • Abstracts that are incomplete or not written in English will not be accepted for review.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine the final presentation format, including assignment to e-poster presentations.
  • No revisions to abstracts will be allowed after the submission deadline, with no exceptions.

Conditions of Acceptance

If accepted into the official program, the following conditions will apply:

  • Oral presentations must be delivered by a single presenter.
  • The presenter must be a listed author of the submitted abstract.
  • Accepted presenters are required to register, pay, and attend the congress in person.
  • Failure to meet these requirements will result in the abstract being excluded from the official program.
  • Abstract submissions remain the property of MPA.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to publish and distribute abstracts as deemed appropriate.

Other Terms and Conditions

All abstract submitters are required to agree to the terms and conditions prior to submitting their work:

  • The submitting author agrees to comply with all data protection and privacy regulations.
  • The submitting authors confirm that the submission represents original work conducted by at least one author or presenter.
  • No financial support is provided to accepted presenters. All accepted presenters must register, pay, and attend the congress to be included in the official program.
  • The submitting authors confirm that the work described has received appropriate approval under relevant ethical guidelines, local regulations, and animal experimentation rules, including consent where applicable.
  • The submitting authors declare that their work does not violate any existing copyright agreements with other publishers.
  • The submitting authors grant permission for their presentation materials to be used for supporting future congresses and for on-demand content.

E-Poster Presentation

Presenters of accepted abstracts will be notified on 15th August 2026.

Please read and follow these guidelines carefully when preparing your e-poster to ensure a smooth submission and presentation process.

General Requirements

  • All e-posters will be displayed in digital format only.
  • Posters must strictly follow the size, format, and submission specifications outlined below.
  • Non-compliant submissions may be returned for revision.

E-Poster Preparation & File Specifications

Poster File

  • Orientation: Portrait
  • Format: PDF (single page only)
  • Dimensions: 26.67 cm (W) × 35.56 cm (H) / 1920 × 1080 pixels
  • File Size: Maximum 5 MB
  • Images: High-resolution images are recommended to ensure clarity.
  • Font Size: No fixed requirement; text must be clear and legible.

Restrictions

  • Hyperlinks, animations, videos, and interactive elements are not permitted and will not function on digital display panels.
  • A disclosure/disclaimer statement must be included on the e-poster.

Audio Presentation Requirement

  • A pre-recorded audio presentation is required.
  • Maximum duration: 10 minutes
  • Format: MP3
  • The audio should explain the poster content, similar to a standard poster presentation.
  • Audio files exceeding 10 minutes will be returned for revision.

Template Usage (Compulsory)

  • Use of the official e-poster template is mandatory.
  • The template is pre-sized to the required dimensions and designed for PDF output.
  • Kindly download and use only the official template provided by the Secretariat.

Mandatory Content (Both PDF & Audio)

Your e-poster and audio presentation must clearly include:

  • Title
  • Author(s) in correct order and affiliation(s)
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Keep content clear, concise, and avoid unnecessary repetition.

Submission Instructions

  • The Secretariat does not provide editing services for poster design or audio recordings.
  • Limited assistance may be provided for administrative or technical queries.
  • Submit the completed PDF e-poster and MP3 audio file via email to: abstract@psychiatry-malaysia.org
